An Australian actor, artist, singer-songwriter, dancer Keiynan Lonsdale has quickly made a name for himself as a multi-hyphenate talent, starring in major motion pictures, television series and releasing his own original music. Named GQ’s Breakthrough Actor of The Year in 2016 (AUS) and then GQ Actor of The Year in 2018, and gracing the GQ Aus cover in 2022 – Keiynan continues to rise in the ranks of top performing artists around the globe.
In 2022, Lonsdale starred and produced the Amazon romantic comedy, feature film My Fake Boyfriend, alongside Sarah Hyland and Dylan Sprouse. Prior to this he led the cast as Julliard opposite Sabrina Carpenter, Jordan Fisher and Liza Koshy in the worldwide #1 Netflix feature film Work It. Keiynan was part of the highly anticipated Stan limited drama series Eden by award winning production company Every Cloud Productions alongside BeBe Bettencourt, Samuel Johnston and Cody Fern, and directed by award winning directors Mirrah Foulkes and John Curran.
Over the past few years Lonsdale has been the recipient of the LGBT Centre Youth Advocacy Award. Alongside Nick Robinson he won the MTV TV Award for “Best Kiss” and is one of the first openly queer actors to play a superhero. Lonsdale has also made a large footprint in the fashion realm– making his Paris Fashion Week runway debut for Louis Vuitton and gracing the 2019 MET Gala pink carpet in a custom gown covered in 1,500 handmade and embroidered butterflies.
In 2018 he starred as Bram Greenfeld opposite Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford and Jennifer Garner in Twentieth Century Fox’s film Love, Simon, directed by Greg Berlanti. The film garnered $66 million at the world-wide box office making it one of the top 10 highest grossing teen romance movies of all time. On the television front, Lonsdale starred on the international hit CW series The Flash as the iconic Wally West/superhero Kid Flash. He joined the cast during season two and his character transitioned to the network’s Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, staying within the DC Comics universe.
His debut album ‘Rainbow Boy’ reached over 5 million streams after only a few months of being released, earning him the nomination of GLAAD’s Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist in 2021. He now garners over 51 million spotify streams across his music, and is currently working on his sophomore album between Los Angeles & Sydney. In 2020 Keiynan produced and performed a virtual mini concert for Billboard as part of their PRIDE At Home Series, and in 2021 he was brought on by Adam Lambert to perform his first festival set at OutLoud’s Raising Voices 3 day event held at The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Next, he is set to represent at Sydney World Pride in 2023.
