Keeley Tennyson

ACTOR, MUSIC THEATRE

Keeley started life in a musical family, and could dance before she could walk and sing before she could talk.  Her first role was at the age of one, playing the trees, rocks and mountains in her elder sister’s nightly living room productions of the Sound of Music.

Keeley trained for 16 years (from the age of 2) at Michelle Slater-Coyne Performing Arts Studio in Melbourne, in multiple genres of dance: jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, commercial and contemporary, as well acrobatics, singing, and musical theatre.  Her highlights included being cast as Elle Woods in MSCPAS’s 2022 production of Legally Blonde, Val in 2024’s A Chorus Line, and appearing as Young Lily (a mini Jessica Marais) in Network Ten’s 2016 series The Wrong Girl, performing in the pre-show entertainment for Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight in 2017 and 2018, featuring in the music video for Claire Bowditch’s 2019 single, Woman, and dancing up a storm in Toyota Corolla’s 2022/3 TVC “Never Stop Smiling”.

Even when almost 2 years of her training had to be via Zoom throughout Melbourne’s epic Covid lockdowns, Keeley’s love of performing never faded, and this culminated in her acceptance to the Diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA, straight out of high school, and the big move to her new home town of Sydney.

Keeley was honoured to be appointed as Dance Captain for her 2025 NIDA cohort, including the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) third year student company performance of NINE in June, 2025 (also playing the role of Lina), directed by Dean Drieberg, and the Diploma of Musical Theatre student company Showcase in October, 2025, directed by Darren Yap and Brittanie Shipway.  She was also featured in two Triple J Unearthed 2025 winner music videos: London, by Chloe the Brand, directed by Cameron Taylor, and Pillow Princess, by Jazzy Dale, directed by Esther Dougherty.
