Born in Nikšić, Montenegro, Matija, play leading roles in several amateur theatre productions, which earned him the Best Young Actor Award at a national drama festival in Montenegro. Following this recognition, he enrolled at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.

During his training, Matija appeared in Serbian television productions, including a featured role in the series Tvrdjava, where he performed as a singing bass guitarist. He later appeared in a supporting lead role in the MGM+ television series Robin Hood, portraying Drew Miller, one of the Miller brothers.

In addition to acting, Matija possesses a strong physical skill set, with training in martial arts, Jiu Jitsu, and MMA, as well as abilities in singing and guitar. He is also proficient in snowboarding and skateboarding and is a licensed CMAS scuba diver.
