Angela Nica Sullen joins the exceptional cast of The Dictionary of Lost Words, adapted from Pip Williams’ best-selling novel and brought to the stage by the award-winning team at State Theatre Company South Australia and Sydney Theatre Company.
Directed by Jessica Arthur and adapted by Verity Laughton, the production explores the untold stories of women and words left out of the Oxford English Dictionary. Set against the backdrop of the women’s suffrage movement and World War I, the play follows Esme, a young girl who collects discarded words, and uncovers the power language holds over history, identity, and belonging.
Angela appears in the ensemble cast as part of this moving, large-scale historical work that’s captivated audiences across Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, and Melbourne.
The Dictionary of Lost Words wrapped its national tour in June 2025 after critical acclaim in every city.
